second-hand styling - clothes swap
I don’t know what it is about September that makes me start thinking about cleaning things down. Maybe it’s the academic calendar that’s forever ingrained in my brain, but, there’s something about September that makes me think of brand new notebooks and clean slates.
I think maybe that’s why the changing leaves seem to ignite an overwhelming urge to empty out my wardrobe.
So, when Jen (of Jeneral Store) got in touch with me about a clothes swap that she was organising, it seemed like the perfect way for me to rebuild my wardrobe and trade in a few bits.
The premise is pretty simple: You bring five decent items and in exchange, you get five tokens. Which you can then use to pick up new items, change up your wardrobe and still be sustainable.
All in all, it was a really good event. The location was perfect (Foundation Coffee) and it was a really social atmosphere, everyone was sharing tips and offering advice on styling. The only lacking is that there were very few plus size ladies in attendance, and therefore a bit limited on stock size 14 and upwards.
I will definitely be back. Wanna join? Have a look on their EventBrite page.
